Michael Aaron Dreyer writes worship music, and he needed a place for it that carried the same weight as the songs. We built him a full catalog — every track with its story, plus the pages that let people find him and follow along. He adds new songs himself, no developer involved.
What we built
For most of his life, Michael wrote. Poems in journals — about faith, about life, about everything that happened in between — with no plan for where they'd go. He isn't a singer, not yet. But AI vocal synthesis meant the words didn't have to wait: his lyrics could become songs now, sung in a voice built to carry them, while he works toward doing it with his own.
Beacon of Light Music exists to hold that catalog. Michael has twenty songs written and is releasing them one at a time, every Friday, on YouTube — and the site is where they live permanently: a full audio tracklist, a page for each song, room for the writing behind it.
We built it on Next.js 16 with Sanity as the content layer, so Michael can add each new song himself as it releases, without needing a developer involved every Friday. Each song gets its own page rather than being buried in a single scrolling list — treating each piece of writing as its own complete work, not filler in a catalog.
The technical challenge wasn't complicated interactivity. It was restraint — building something clean enough to let two decades of personal writing carry the weight, and structured to keep growing every week as the catalog does, on the way from an AI voice to his own.
